Grain entrapments pose a significant danger in the grain storage industry, with scenarios like flowing grain entrapments, avalanche entrapments, and bridging entrapments accounting for a large portion of incidents.

• Flowing grain entrapments, where workers become trapped in grain columns, represent about 70% of documented cases.
• Avalanche entrapments occur when unstable grain towers collapse onto workers, accounting for about 10% of incidents.
• Bridging entrapments, caused by thick crust layers collapsing, are responsible for approximately 7% of cases.

Most of these cases occur due to grain going out of condition, forcing workers to enter grain bin to dislodge clumped grain. These dangers highlight the urgent need for safe grain removal strategies to mitigate the risk of entrapment incidents.
